Enclosed you will find a collection of some 140 plates of full size English furniture mouldings encompassing the time span of the late 16th Century through the early 19th Century. Each plate herein contains a line drawing of the actual piece of furniture together with full size line drawings of the individual related mouldings enhancing that piece of furniture. The drawings were produced by the author after many years of effort spent studying, designing and preparing similar drawings for early 20th Century furniture manufacture.

The wood selection used in the originals were mainly Oak, Walnut, Mahogany, and Satinwood, with some Kingwood, Pearwood, Beech and Pine with various combinations of these woods, inlaid and veneered.
The plates are grouped according to type, i.e. bookcases with bookcases, though each piece of furniture is dated. For your ease of perusal we also offer a List of Plates as well as an Index of Subjects by title. This practical presentation of English furniture and the mouldings or enhancements which set them apart in the world of design are offered here to show the care, pride and integrity of past craftsmen to set their labors apart from those of other cultures.
