When you request a catalog or join our membership, we collect your name, address, telephone number, and email address. In addition, when you make a purchase, we also collect your credit card or payment information. The Japan Woodworker uses this information to fulfill your order and to communicate with you about your order. If requested, we will place you on our own mailing list to provide you with email newsletters, special offers and updates about our products and services. Of course, you may unsubscribe to our mailing list at any time. Again, your personal information is never sold or given to any outside sources.
Secure Ordering
Credit card security is a top priority at The Japan Woodworker. SSL sends your credit card number to our computer in an encrypted code, which only we can decode. Our transaction system currently works only with Web browsers that can use SSL such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator and the America Online browser.
In addition, you are protected by the Fair Credit Billing Act, which prohibits your bank from holding you liable for more than $50.00 of fraudulent charges. In the event of unauthorized use of your credit card, please notify your credit card provider immediately in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures.
Sending a Gift
When you send a gift and want it sent directly to the recipient, you will need to submit the recipient's name and postal address information. We will use this information only to ship the product and confirm delivery. We do not share this information with outside parties. Information you provide us to create a gift-card is only used for that purpose, and it is only disclosed to the person receiving the gift.
