The Japan Woodworker will be showcasing some of our customer's woodworking projects. Come back soon as we will be adding to this photo gallery in the near future.
Born in 1951, David has been a professional cabinet maker since 1973 and has specialized in teaching the craft since 1977. He runs courses at Harton Manor Workshop teaching fine furniture making to exhibition standard. A small group, of no more than four students, ensures a high level of individual attention.
He is a member of the Devon Guild Of Craftsmen and has served on their selection committee. His work is included in the British Crafts Council slide library. He writes regularly for Furniture & Cabinetmaking magazine and his first book of articles was published in 1999. David trained with Ted Baly who was one of the founder members of the Devon Guild Of Craftsmen. He works in English & exotic hardwoods and enjoys making intricate and finely detailed pieces. His work exhibits many style influences and there is a constant search for elegant and simple design solutions. He is renowned for his attention to detail and fine craftsmanship.
