Our Chisels Rated #1 by Fine Woodworking Magazine
In an extensive review of 17 bench-chisels, The Japan Woodworker's White Steel and Blue Steel chisels were rated #1 and #2, respectively, by Fine Woodworking Magazine.
"There is no denying the durability of the steel in the three top scoring Japanese chisels: White Steel, Blue Steel and Iyori."

What our Customers are Saying
Hats Off
There's nothing like a little customer
service to renew flagging faith. A member of our staff, who shall
remain nameless, recently purchased and promptly broke a small saw
from Japan Woodworker. We returned the saw anonymouslythe
company had no idea it had come from This Old Houseand
although the Californiabased firm's experts determined
that the buyer had "abused" the blade, the company cheerfully
and hastily sent a replacement. A folding saw with razor-sharp teeth,
the tool is designed to cut on the pull rather than the push stroke,
hence its instructions: "To avoid damage to the blade, let
the saw do the work. Do not try to force it." Our staffer adamantly
denies any wrongdoing, but we who know his enthusiasm have our doubts.
The point is: Japan Woodworker stood behind its productand
with refreshing graciousness.

I am very happy indeed with the kind service offered by Japan
Woodworker and yourself. In addition to this, I would like to say
that the tools I have received from you so far, after some
testing, are turning out to be even better than I had expected.
Regards from a happy customer,

I usually reserve favorable comments for products
but your catalog deserves mention. I am a metallurgical engineer,
a knifemaker and wood carver. I read knife and woodworking catalogs
with skepticism and even amusement at the embellishments and claims
of uninformed merchants. I read yours cover to cover with interest
and genuine admiration. Factual and informative! The only inaccuracy
was the use of the degree symbol after the Rockwell
C number. Its not necessary I am going through the catalog
once again to determine what I just cant live without.

I ordered from your website and just wanted to tell you what a
clear, clean, no nonsense ordering process you have. The pages
in which we fill the info were attractive as well as clear. Look
forward to receiving the Tormek.
I shall order other things from you in future. Also, the 2% discount
was a nice surprise!! Thanks Japanwoodworker. Well done.

I just wanted to say thanks to your staff for great service; I
also wanted to comment on the kitchen knives I bought. I have never
seen knives this sharp, *never*. I'm pretty good with a whetstone,
but these knives are so keen-edged, they command a certain amount
of respect. I know what all my family members are getting for Christmas
this year; Hand-forged kitchen Knives, made in Japan!

Hello Fred
Thank you for your e-mail. I've already place and order
for the DMT Diamond Whetstone #45.006.1. I had spoke to Chuck earlier
today and he was most kind and helpfull answering my questions.
Connie was very kind and helpfull as well in taking my order. She
mentiond that she will also mail me your Catalog when she ships

you provide your customers. And if I ever need any supplies that

I received my copy of your catalog about a week
ago, and I am very impressed. I have been showing it to my woodworking
friends, and they cant wait to paw over it once Ive
made my own orders.
I am also impressed at the way you run your business;
when the item I wanted was out of stock, you offered me a similar
item for the same price. As a result of that one action, I have
a new favorite place to get my mail-order woodworking supplies.
Just wanted to tell you that I'm giving the Japan Woodworker
rave reviews to all my friends. I wish you continued good business!
